The Beginning - Mr. Champalal Modi

Rooted in the vibrant heart of Punjab, the journey started in 1951 by Mr. Champalal Ji Modi as a wholesale B2B jewellery business, built on strong values and an uncompromising commitment to quality.

1951

First Retail Store

In 1975, the first retail store opened in Ludhiana’s Sarafa Bazaar, marking the beginning of a remarkable expansion: 1975 – Ludhiana (Sarafa Bazaar) 1978 – Chandni Chowk, Delhi 1986 – Karol Bagh 1991 – Greater Kailash 1997 – Rajouri Garden Every address became a hallmark of excellence where heritage met artistry, and relationships were crafted to last generations.

Mr. Rajesh Modi

At a time when jewellery was largely defined by gold, Champalal Jewellers took a bold step forward becoming one of the first to introduce diamond jewellery in Delhi. This pioneering move redefined consumer aspirations and set new benchmarks in design and luxury. Over the years, the brand grew into one of the largest diamond jewellery manufacturers, known for precision, artistry, and innovation. Its reputation soon crossed borders, with exhibitions across the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Dubai, followed by showcases in the United States (Los Angeles and San Francisco) in 2005.

1986

Mr. Shaksham Modi

With decades of excellence as their foundation, the next generation stepped in to shape the future of Champalal Jewellers with renewed purpose. In 2018, the elder son, Saksham Modi, joined the business, bringing with him a global outlook and a refined understanding of modern luxury. Alongside him, his wife, Shaivya, an interior designer educated in Chicago, leads the brand's marketing vision—infusing it with a contemporary aesthetic and a keen sense of design-led storytelling.

Mr. Hardik Modi

In 2019, the younger son, Hardik Modi, entered the business, adding a dynamic perspective—one that blends innovation with the deep-rooted values of the family tradition. In 2024, he married Anushree, and together, they bring a shared vision and entrepreneurial spirit to the next chapter of the brand. With a collective vision to elevate the legacy to new heights, 2026 marks the beginning of a defining chapter. Led by Hardik and Anushree, this new venture introduces an exquisite luxury destination in Gurugram, dedicated exclusively to natural diamonds—crafted for a discerning, global clientele.
